My parents lived in Flemalle in 1949 after leaving Italy to find work.  My father worked in a cement factory and then in a coal mine nearby but found the conditions harsh and they reluctantly went back to Italy, after which they migrated to Australia.  They really loved living in Flemalle and I have tried to locate their address.  My mother said the street was called Rue Samuel Donnay but all I can find is "Place Samuel Donnay"  so I imagine there has been some re-naming of streets.  Perhaps Rue Samuel Donnay is now "Grande Route".  My mother (now aged almost 95) tried to recall the name of her landlady, she says is Madame La Rue but I think it may be lost in translation.  I would love to visit one day!
